Me: sounds like! i am always impressed by fandom longevity
Them: It's X-Men. 40+ years of continuity for us to bastardize. we're good for at least another 5 years
Me: too true! also i am officially a nerd because i just spent the last two minutes trying to figure out if there's an equation to determine correlation between various factors of fandom source material (e.g. how exhaustive it is/how long it's been around/how big of a following it has sustained) and the fannish output :|
Them: ....you are. and there is not. we tried to write one. well, I did not. I cannot handle anything past basic algebra, but you know, people more mathematically inclined
Me: i have zero mathematical inclinations outside of statistics but i'm sure with enough research i could come up with some trends :| :| :| but i won't because i can't quantify epicness of fannish output as it's entirely subjective :| and i'm going to shut up now before i outgeek myself lol
